In accordance with part two of the Article 16 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” and according to the “Standards and Recommendations for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area”, the Academic Council of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University approved:

System of internal quality assurance measures for higher education
There is a Council for the Quality of Higher Education operating at the University – a collegial advisory body, the purpose of which is the successful implementation of the internal quality assurance system of higher education in order to achieve the strategic priorities of the University.
The direct monitoring and quality management of higher education at the University is carried out by the Educational Laboratory of Monitoring and Quality Management Systems in the Educational and Practical Center of Innovation and Strategic Development.
The mechanism of development, approval, monitoring and review of educational programs is regulated by the “Regulations on the organization of educational activities at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University” approved by the Academic Council (protocol № 1 of 30.08.2018) and put into effect by the order of the rector №306 / 05 from 08/31/2018
An educational (vocational, educational, scientific) program within each specialty is developed by the project team. Then, this program is approved by the decision of the Academic Council of the University and put into effect by order of the rector.
Educational programs are reviewed based on their monitoring results. Education programs are monitored at the local and university levels.
Local monitoring is usually carried out by members of the project team with the participation of leading specialists of profile departments with the involvement of students’ self-government representatives. The results of local monitoring are discussed at least once a year at the Educational and Methodological Commission and the Academic Council of the respective faculty / institute.
University-wide monitoring is conducted to summarize and disseminate best practices within the University and to identify negative tendencies in a timely manner.
The annual analysis of the final (qualification) theses is carried out to assess their quality and structure, discuss the results of the analysis at the meetings of the Academic Council of the University. Project teams review the components of educational programs to ensure that they meet the urgent requirements of the labor market. Improvement of departments’ curricula and work programs of disciplines in the context of their compliance with the requirements of licensing and accreditation.
Evaluation of students’ training results is carried out in accordance with the “Procedure for Assessment of Knowledge of students at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University” (approved by the Academic Council protocol No. 10 of 26.04.2019 and put into effect by the order of the Rector No. 119/05 of 13.05. 2019) in accordance with the published criteria, policies and procedures. The criteria for evaluating the results of students’ academic achievements are well-founded and meet the requirements of the ECTS European Knowledge Assessment System.

In accordance with the “Regulation on the rating of indicators of teacher activities, department, faculty / institute at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University” (approved by the Academic Council protocol No. 12 from 26.06.2018 and put into effect by the order of the rector №268 / 05 from 25.07.2018) personal ratings of scientific and pedagogical staff are determined. Rating indicators are based on the list of work types of scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical staff, requirements for staffing of the specialty. The list of indicators for calculating the rating is flexible and can be adjusted in accordance with changes in the methodology of international and national ratings, scientific and technological progress, the development of new types of educational, scientific, organizational activities and changes in the legislation of Ukraine.
Advanced training of scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical staff is carried out by deepening, expanding and updating professional competencies, systematic improvement of qualification and internship of teachers in accordance with the “Regulation on professional development and training of scientific and pedagogical staff at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University» (Protocol No. 3 dated 01.11.2019 and entered into force by order of the Rector No. 398/15 of 05.11.2019).
The educational process at the University is supplied with computer equipment and software packages. The University creates conditions for uninterrupted access to the Internet, there are Wi-Fi zones in all buildings, and cloud technologies are being used. The University operates a single management information system, as a hardware and software complex, which provides a few basic functions for working with documents and databases in electronic form using cloud technologies, specialized software and Office-365 services.
The program and technological complex of the educational process management AS “Dean’s office” helps to automate the basic functions of the dean’s office. Application of this automated system helps in the organizational work and efficient management of the educational process.
To prevent and detect plagiarism in the research works of higher education staff and students, a system for preventing and detecting plagiarism operates for participants of the educational process.
The «Code of Academic Honesty and Corporate Ethics of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University» (approved by the Academic Council No. 3 dated December 7, 2016, and enacted by the order of the Rector No. 390/05 of December 22, 2016) ), and the «Commission on Academic Integrity and Corporate Ethics of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University» were established (protocol No. 6 of April 28, 2017 approved by the Academic Council and put into effect on 05/05/2017) to provide the academic honesty at the University.
