Language (languages) of the educational programs
The language of the educational process (the language of study and assessment) at the University is the state (Ukrainian) language. The use of foreign languages in the educational process of the University is carried out in accordance with the law.
For English language education programs, the language of study and assessment is English.

The strategic task of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University is pragmatization of educational activities through lifelong learning, practice-oriented, interdisciplinary and social demand for educational programs, their consistency with global trends in education, science and business, the demands of employers. Creation of such programs requires constructive cooperation of all stakeholders: students, graduates, social partners, representatives of professional organizations, employers. In the context of reforming higher education in Ukraine and building a system to ensure its quality, it is a matter of time today to involve various stakeholders in project groups for developing educational programs. This will bring the profile of the educational program as close as possible to the real needs of society, increase the innovative, entrepreneurial and research potential of graduates, improve employability, competitiveness in the labor market.
In order to ensure effective communication with stakeholders in the development and implementation of educational programs, Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University has introduced the practice of joint activities: round tables, professional hackathons, networking, meetings with graduates, production tours.
The education quality of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University is reflected in the rankings of higher education institutions, which are based on the willingness of graduates to recommend the University. Thus, in 2019, Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University entered the TOP-5 ranking of universities from the DOU portal , receiving high marks from current and former students. The readiness to recommend Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University and most of its performance indicators are highly valued. World rankings of higher education institutions, in particular QS World University Rankings, is practically a reputation ranking, reflecting the assessment of the quality of education by employers.
Monitoring of employment level
Today, one of the main tasks for higher education institutions is to train qualified specialists who must meet the modern requirements of labor market and employers. Businesses and organizations are looking for young professionals with good theoretical knowledge and ability to apply them in the workplace. In total, after five years of its activity in Vinnytsia, more than seven and half thousand highly qualified specialists graduated from the university. Since 2018, Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University has been systematically monitoring the level of employment of higher education seekers and graduates through questionnaires during state attestation (qualification) commissions. Monitoring data contains information on employment, place of work and position. The average percentage of respondents at the University was 77% in 2018. In summer 2019 - 85.6%. According to the results of the survey, it is determined that 63% of students and graduates are employed.
6 months after graduation, an anonymous questionnaire is conducted regarding the level of teaching and competencies acquired during study at the University. Feedback from graduates on the institution of higher education is systematized by receiving feedback from graduates on the results of systematic questionnaires. The results of the questionnaires are reviewed by the University management and are the basis for decisions on changes in educational programs of certain disciplines to ensure the quality of education, as a result of increasing employment of graduates of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University.

Additional educational services are provided at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University in accordance with the list approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On approval of the list of paid services that may be provided by educational institutions, other institutions and educational institutions belonging to state and communal ownership” of 27 August 2010 № 796 as amended.
The cost of additional educational and other services is determined in accordance with the economically justified costs associated with its provision. The University can differentiate the amount of fees for services based on the licensed volume, the ratio of supply and demand in specific areas (specialties). The amount of the fee for the provision of educational services may change annually with regard to the inflation index for the previous year.
The cost of paid services is determined on the basis of the relevant estimate, which is calculated taking into account the expenses of the University, except for those financed from the general fund of the state budget or other funding sources, and approved by order of the University Rector.
The components of the cost are:
– salary expenses;
– accrual to the payroll in accordance with the law;
– direct costs of paying for the services of other organizations;
– capital expenditures;
– indexation of wages, other expenses in accordance with current legislation.
