– передавайте цю інформацію своїм колегам і друзям, нехай весь світ знає, що відбувається насправді;

– допомагайте чим можете тим українцям, які залишаються на своїй землі для боротьби з агресором;

#CloseSkyOverUkraine

The 17th day of Ukraine’s bloody war against the russian occupier. For 17 days, russia has been brutally and cynically committing crimes against humanity. On russia’s conscience, there have been 775 rocket missiles of various types in our cities and homes. The number of casualties cannot even be conclusively established due to the lack of inspection of the areas of shelling, where the russian armed forces are actively engaged in combat. In Mariupol alone, which is totally isolated and constantly shelled, the number of casualties according to preliminary estimates is 1,582 civilians. It is genocide in the heart of Europe. Across Ukraine, 280 educational institutions have been destroyed. 7 million children cannot get an education because of the fighting. The number of children who have fled Ukraine to escape the war has exceeded 1 million. It tears at the heart, but we know that we will win! Let’s be victorious for all of Europe and the children on Earth!

Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University continues to report on the war’s situation in Ukraine. Colleagues, friends, partners,

– pass this information to your colleagues and friends, and let the whole world know what is really going on;

– help in any way you can to those Ukrainians who remain on their soil to fight the aggressor;

– convince your elites and communities that it is worthwhile to make Europe a safe and smiling home for citizens together – help the Ukrainian army, provide humanitarian assistance to those in need in Ukraine, unite to preserve European values.

We will take them on and destroy them on the ground! Please help us do it in the sky too! #CloseSkyOverUkraine

What’s important to know as of the morning of 12 March.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the Ukrainian defence forces are fighting back decently and holding back the russian offensive in all directions. The enemy in the Polessk, Seversk and South Bug operational areas has heavy losses and is trying to consolidate on previously seized lines. Unable to advance, at least six russian Tu-95MS aircraft fired ten cruise missiles at Dnipro, Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Due to failures in ground operations, russian invaders are stepping up terrorist methods of warfare. For airstrikes on Ukrainian cities, residential areas, hospitals and schools, they use weapons prohibited by international law. There is irrefutable evidence of the russian army’s use of low-precision fragmentation bombs (OFZAB-500) and thermobaric missiles (“vacuum bombs”) in Ukraine. These weapons have a crushing effect and absorb oxygen from the surrounding air to create higher temperatures explosion than conventional bombs. The UN OHCHR also confirmed the use of cluster munitions by russian forces in Ukraine. In particular, a cluster munition exploded in a hospital in Ugledar, Donetsk region, killing four people and injuring ten others. In addition, cluster munitions killed nine civilians and injured another 37 in Kharkiv.

Russia uses Kadyrov’s Chechen fighters to exterminate Ukrainian civilians and plans to throw 16,000 mercenaries from Syria into Ukraine. There have been numerous cases of mercenary atrocities on Ukrainian territory. For example, in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, between the settlements of Yegorovka and Novoselka, Kadyrovites, on a tank crushed a Ukrposhta vehicle with two employees who were delivering pensions and mail. A man and a woman were killed on the spot. The world must react very harshly and quickly to the terrorist actions of putin’s army. If it is not stopped, it will move further west and continue its crimes against the Ukrainian people, but also against the civilians of European countries.

In just 16 days of the war, 70 children have been killed and almost 100 wounded, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. This terrible figure is not conclusive due to the lack of inspection of shelling sites where the russian armed forces are actively engaged in hostilities. A total of 280 educational institutions were destroyed. Of these, 110 are in the Donetsk region, 28 in the Sumy region, and 17 in Kyiv. Seven million children cannot receive an education because of the hostilities. According to UNICEF, the number of children who have fled Ukraine to escape the war has exceeded 1 million. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has been told that the total number of refugees from Ukraine has already exceeded 2.5 million since 24 February.

As of the morning of March 12, Vasylkiv and Brovary in the Kyiv region had been hit by overnight airstrikes causing more casualties and fires. The russian army was firing heavily at Severodonetsk and other towns in Luhansk Oblast, which is already 70 per cent occupied (according to local authorities).

Mykolaiv was covered in “chaotic fire” during the night, with a cancer hospital and a boarding school for children coming under fire. In the center of Chernihiv, overnight shelling destroyed the Hotel Ukraina. The city was left without communications, electricity, and no water, heating or gas.

In Sumy Region, russian occupation troops dropped five aerial bombs on the territory of the Zvezdnyy children’s camp near the village of Olshanka. The number of casualties is not yet known. In the Kharkiv region, the Centre for Sociological and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children in the town of Shevelivka came under fire. The children were reportedly unharmed as they were in a bomb shelter when the shelling. In the village of Slobozhansk, the bodies of five people were found under the rubble of a house. Among the dead were two children, two women and a man. An aerial bomb hit a two-storey house.

Mariupol has remained under a total blockade and shelling for 13 days now. According to city authorities, 1,582 Mariupol residents have been killed by the relentless shelling of residential areas by the Russian army. A “humanitarian corridor” to the encircled city has not been opened these days. On the night of March 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed a tank attack by the russians at a place where a convoy with humanitarian aid was supposed to pass. “They have a clear order to hold Mariupol hostage, to bully it,” he said.

 On 11 March, more than 7,000 residents of Vorzel, Bucha, Gostomel and Kozarovichi in the Kyiv region were evacuated. Evacuation from other hotspots remains blocked due to constant shelling by russian forces.

Arrests and searches have begun in the homes of Crimean Tatar activists and among the Ukrainian population opposed to the russian occupation in the south of Ukraine. On 11 March, russian troops detained and kidnapped the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov. More than 2,000 city residents marched under Ukrainian flags to demand his release from captivity.

Russia’s military aggression will have consequences for the entire global economy, for every European’s confidence in tomorrow. Russia will not stop unless we stop it together.

It is not our war, but it is about every person on the planet, even if the explosions don’t wake them up at night yet. Stand with Ukraine, defend the world with concrete actions! This is our land! We are here together with the truth, Victory and independence!

Glory to Ukraine! Slava Ukraini!

17 dzień krwawej wojny Ukrainy z rosyjskim okupantem. To ludobójstwo w samym sercu Europy.

Koledzy, przyjaciele, partnerzy,

– przekażcie te informacje swoim współpracownikom i przyjaciołom, niech cały świat się dowie, co dzieje się naprawdę;

Zwalczymy i zniszczymy ich na ziemi! Prosimy o pomoc, by to zrobić również w niebie! #CloseSkyOverUkraine

Najważniejsze informacje według stanu na 12 marca:

Skutki nalotów w Dnieprze 11 marca. Zdjęcie GU DSNS Ukrainy w obwodzie dniepropietrowskim

„Mają jasny rozkaz, by przetrzymywać Mariupol jako zakładnika, by się nad nim znęcać” – powiedział.

– distribuez ces informations à vos collègues et amis, faites savoir au monde entier ce qui se passe réellement ;

– aidez autant que vous le pouvez les Ukrainiens qui restent  en Ukraine pour combattre l’agresseur ;

Vive l’Ukraine!
