Preparatory courses at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University provide highly effective training of students in accordance with the current programs and requirements of external independent evaluation (EIE).

Students of the preparatory courses become eligible to the first priority enrollment when they have equal amount of points at any faculty of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University. Our graduates also have the opportunity to earn additional points for a number of specialties (According to the Admission Rules).

The preparatory courses actively cooperate with the leading departments of the university, secondary schools. The course instructors are the authors of the work programs and teaching manuals for the courses offered to students.

The graduates of our preparatory courses become students of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University and many other institutions of higher education in Ukraine.

Learning Process

Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University Preparatory Courses were created to assist applicants and prepare them for admission to the HEI in all specialties. The course preparation is adopted to different educational needs and lasts differently:

8-month : September – May;

The courses help students to systematize the knowledge they have gained during their school years, obtain additional information about their chosen disciplines, as well as prepare for external independent evaluation.

Applicants are those who are still enrolled in secondary education, as well as individuals who have already completed full secondary education.

Classes are given on a fee basis. Individual classes with teachers are also provided.

To enroll in the courses, one must write an application and enter into an agreement (passport or birth certificate is needed), an identification code, as well as a passport and identification code of one of the parents (for students under 18 years).

The following courses are following:

Ukrainian language and literature;

History of Ukraine;

Maths;

Foreign language (English);

Chemistry;

Biology;

Physics.

Lecturers of preparatory courses are better aware of the EIT process, the requirements for the presentation of tests, types of tasks and questions; they are up to date on the latest changes and innovations. Therefore, those who have completed the courses do not have to spend precious time while testing to understand the rules of the tasks and other organizational aspects.

Benefits for graduates of preparatory courses

Upon completion of preparatory courses, students receive a graduate certificate.

According to the admission rules of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University, students who have successfully completed our preparatory courses in the year of admission have the following benefits:

– the right for priority enrollment in Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University when number of points is equal (Paragraph 13 of the Admission Rules to Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University);

– additional points to the total number of points upon entering Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University for training in natural-mathematical and engineering-technical fields (specialties).

Students only receive additional points if the amount of study hours is not less than 150 classroom hours and the training period is not less than three months.
