      Lyceum attached to Donetsk National University was created by the common decision №135 of May 23. 1990 of Donetsk Regional Council and Donetsk State University (at present Donetsk National University) - first in the Eastern Ukraine - Ukrainan-speaking lyceum.

It is determined in the lyceum:

• teaching in the state language;
• in-depth study of the following subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, Ukrainian language, Russian language, Modern Greek.

• gaining by the pupils of general education and fore-professional training;
• individual selection of special courses, optional subjects;
• involving pupils in scientific research work;
• creation of maximum favourable conditions for personal self-realization.

     Lyceum can be entered by pupils, who live in the Donetsk region, who have finished 9 forms of general education school and have passed competitve selection.

     Scince 1996 Greek children from the rural area study in the lyceum in the classes with in-depth study of Modern Greek.

Quantity of pupils: 275.

     Lyceum is a prestigious educational establishment, center of upbringing of national religious, scientific elite of Ukraine. For that purpose:

• lyceum's learned body;
• ecological club "Ecos";
• club "Intelligent", headed by the National Artist of Ukraine Pisarev V. Ja;

• club "Polyglot", which cooperates with France Alience, with Greek and German association and is in correspondence with many different educational establishments of near and remote foreign countries;

• club "Lic", which gives an opportunity of developing of pupils' literary abilities;
• football club "Astra".
