Well-known Petersburg archaeologist and anthropologist, Doctor of History, who has prepared several generations of specialists. He taught archaeology at St.-Petersburg University for two decades and anthropology at European University at St.-Petersburg. His lecture courses were also at Berlin, Durham, Vienna, Copenhagen, Seattle; he gave lectures at Cambridge, Oxford, Madrid, Stockholm, Oslo and other university centres. He is the author of many books and articles in theory of archaeology, on specific problems of Bronze and Iron Ages and of cultural anthropology. |
