General information

1. This statute of the higher educational institution which was made according to the current Law of Ukraine, is a document which regulates activity of Donetsk National University (further University), that is a successor of Donetsk State University, which was found in accordance with the decrees by then Council of Ministers USSR № 421 dated to 28th of May 1965 and Council of Ministers of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic № 572 dated to 11th of June 1965 as Donetsk State University. With the decree of the President of Ukraine № 1059 / 2000 dated to 11th of September 2000 Donetsk State University was given the status of National. In accordance with item 1 of order of Ministry of High Education of Ukraine № 505 dated to 30th of October 2000 the successor of Donetsk State University is Donetsk National University. 3. Focus areas of University are:

   • Training for government order and contractual obligations highly qualified specialists of different qualification levels (junior specialist, bachelor, specialist, master) for Science, Education, Culture, Economy, other branches and another countries;

   • preparation and continuing education for foreign countries;

   • research work;

   • specialization, advanced training, continuing education;

   • culturally-educational, methodical, publishing, financially-economic activities.

4. Main tasks of the University are:

   • carrying out of educational activities of the designed direction, which provides training of specialists corresponding educational qualification levels and correspond with standards of High Education;

   • carrying out of scientific and science and research activities;

   • carrying out of creative, art, cultural and character building , sport and health-giving activities;

   • providing fulfillment of government order and agreements for training of specialists with higher education \ degree;

   • carrying out of training scientific and scientifically pedagogical workers and their attestation;

   • demand analysis of some specializations on labor market and assistance in employment of graduates;

   • providing cultural and spiritual development personality, upbringing of students in the spirit of Ukrainian patriotism and respect to Ukrainian constitution;

   • increasing the educational cultural level of citizen.

5. In accordance with the decree of State accreditation committee dated to 13th of June 2004 record № 50 (decree of ministry for education and science of Ukraine dated to 26.04.2004 № 336) about after-effect of accreditation, University is accreditated as High Educational Institution of 4th level. It has right to train specialists in such educational-qualification levels as junior specialist, bachelor, specialist, master and right to train foreign citizen, which is corroborated by report of expert's committee ministry for education and science of Ukraine which was made in March of 2004.

6. University is juridical person, has property, can in its own name obtain property right and private non-property rights and have duties, be plaintiff and person on trial in court.

7. University has private balance, operating current account, foreign currency account and other accounts in banks, stamp with National coat-of-arms of Ukraine and it’s full name, it’s symbols, can have registered trademark and other necessary requisites and attributes of juridical person.
   University has holiday – The day of University, which is celebrated by all faculties and other divisions on 28th of May annually

8. University carries out its activities in accordance with current Ukrainian Law and this Statute.

9. Divisions of University are created to fulfill the main task of University according to Law and main tasks of High Educational Institution activities and function in accordance with decree about it. Divisions of University can have separate rights of juridical person.
   University has also such divisions as institutions, including Humanitarian Institute, technical school in Gorlovka, technical school of economy and management in Enakievo, faculties, departments, educational and consulting centers, scientific laboratories, library, courses for studding foreign languages, computer training courses, sports center and other divisions. The list of structural divisions of University (structure of University) is approved by the decree of Rector of University.
